Dr. CHOI Tae Hee is Associate Professor at the Department of Policy and Leadership and a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy. She had also served as the President of the Comparative Education Society of Hong Kong (2016-2018). She received her MA degree in Second Language Studies at University of Hawaii at Manoa, US, and her PhD in Education from King’s College London, UK.
Her current research focuses on the process and impact of educational policies/reforms in the Asia-Pacific region, particularly concerning English language education/language-in-education and those responding to neoliberal trends. She is currently teaching on BEd, MA and MTeach programmes, and supervising EdD/PhD students. Prospective EdD/PhD students who share research interests are welcome to contact her. Her scholarship and expertise in the field is recognised through international awards (e.g., Young Scholar Best Paper Awards, The Asia Pacific Educational Research Association), advisory-seeking (e.g., Asia Productivity Organisation of The UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific; Cambridge University Press), and Visiting Scholarship (e.g., University of Queensland, Australia; Strathclyde University, Scotland).
Previously she was a Visiting Lecturer (2010 – 2013), and a Visiting Senior Lecturer (2019) at King’s College London, UK; was a teacher educator and policy advisor (2005-2009) and English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teacher (1995-2009) in South Korea. She published about thirty EFL learning and teaching resources with Korean and international publishers, in addition to academic publications.
