Dr James Chung-wah Lam is an Associate Professor in the Department of Science and Environmental Studies (SES) at the Education University of Hong Kong. His research centers on studying of environmental fate, transport, bioaccumulation of contaminants, and assessment of wildlife and human exposure to the contaminants especially contaminants of emerging concern (CECs).

Dr Lam’s current research focuses on studying of new persistent organic pollutants (POPs) and contaminants of emerging concern (CECs). Priority CECs of interest encompass flame retardants, perfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs), and pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs). Specific research interests include:
