Reconstructing the China Identity: A Study of China Study Trips for Students in Hong Kong

An ethnographic study of China study tours examining critically the shaping and negotiation of political identity of participants of Hong Kong, and exploring the dynamic relationships between the politics of identity and national education. Based on the content and iconographic analysis of the collected data, it is anticipated that the compromise and/or contestation between national and local identities can be delineated in the light of the contextual observations and experiences of participants during study tours.
