Voices from the Field: International School Teacher and Leader Perceptions on What Makes a School an International School

This project seeks to explore how international school leaders and teachers understand what it is that makes a school an ‘international school’. If there are different types of international schools, what do these practitioners view as the key markers that distinguish one type of international school from the other? Furthermore, how fixed or how fluid are these boundary markers of different types of international schools? Specifically, the project’s objectives are: To understand international school leaders and teachers perspectives on what makes a school an international school; To understand international school leaders and teachers perspectives on the effects of different ‘types’ of international schools; To explore any similarities and differences between ‘types’ of international schools; To make a new contribution to the existing literature on the nature of international schools.
